Bristol Cloth 1st Edition is local regeneratively farmed 100% lambswool from the Mendip Hills near Bristol, hand-dyed with organic madder root & weld flower plant dyes by Botanical Inks natural dye studio, to give orangey red stripes. Which sit next to the natural (unbleached/un-dyed) fleece colours of light grey and a dark grey.The Bristol Weaving Mill weave these scarves on a vintage Dormier loom using a highly skilled basket weave design with our pinstripe plant dye colour running through it.
Bristol Cloth is processed without the use of any harmful synthetic chemicals, using biological soap and water only for washing. Dyed with organic plant dyes by Botanical Inks using a gentle and non-toxic technique. The majority of the production is set within a 15 mile radius of Bristol, reducing carbon footprint of transport and investing in local heritage artisan craft. The entire process is set within the UK, championing British wool and sustaining what this country has always offered.
