Anthemis tinctoria, Dyers Chamomile yields beautiful yellows from the whole dried flowers and work best on protein fibres such as silk and wool.
This Dyers Chamomiie is from a grower on Guernsey in the British Isles who uses permaculture soil buidling techniques and a chemical-free process.

Use for bundle dyeing to create direct prints on textiles and paper, or steeped in water to create a dyepot for submerging textiles into.
The best colours are given on protein fibres such as silk and wool, rather than plant fibres.

Colours:
Warm Yellows

Dyers Chamomile is edible. A tea can be made from the dried plant.

100% WOF - good yellow
200% WOF - strong yellow

eg. 50 grams will dye 100g of fibre a good yellow.

To make a dye, add enough water to create the space required for your fibres to move around freely in.
Bring to a simmer and keep at 82 celsius for 30 mins. Strain using a sieve and cheesecloth. Add pre-wetted fibres and simmer for 60 mins or until desired depth of colour achieved. Remove from heat and cool. Rinse, wash and air dry.
Ref Botanical Inks book for further info on dyeing instructions for cellulose/protein fibres, mordanting etc..
